Jessie Reyez es una cantante y guitarrista, la cual se hizo famosa en el 2016 con su single "Figures". La canción fue publicada como promoción de su EP kiddo. Ha trabajado con grandes productores y grabado con artistas como Skrillex, Babyface y Chance the Rapper.

Jessie Reyez is a singer and guitarist who burst onto the music scene in 2016 with her acclaimed debut single "Figures." The song was the public's first taste of her debut EP, Kiddo. She has worked with superstar producers and recording artists like Skrillex, Babyface and Chance the Rapper.

Jessica Reyez, cantante y compositora colombiana creció saltando por diferentes regiones de Toronto, moviéndose por North York antes de instalarse definitivamente en Brampton. Ella bailó hip-hop a lo largo de sus estudios de secundaria, los cuales se vieron perjudicados como resultado. Después de llegar a la pubertad, Jessie se encontró en una relación seria que duró a lo largo de sus años en la escuela secundaria, y durante un tiempo todo parecía estar yendo bien. Pero cuando su novio le dijo que iba a ir a su educación en un país diferente, el mundo de Jessie se rompió.

Jessica Reyez, the Colombian singer-songwriter grew up bouncing around different regions of Toronto, moving around North York before finally settling in Brampton. She danced to hip-hop music throughout her high school career and her scholastics suffered as a result. After hitting puberty, Jessie found herself in a serious relationship that lasted throughout her years in high school, and for a while everything seemed to be going well. But when her boyfriend told her that he was going to be going to be continuing his education in a different country, Jessie’s world shattered.

Poco después de graduarse, Jessie convirtió su dolor en poesía mientras tocaba sus canciones en las calles y clubes de Toronto. Después de solicitar las visas americanas, la familia de Jessie finalmente había sido aprobada, y ella podría vivir sola en Canadá o unirse a ellos en Florida.

Soon after graduating, Jessie turned her pain into poetry as she performed her songs around the streets and clubs of Toronto. But just as she was beginning to make headway into the local music scene, Jessie found out that she had to move to Miami. After applying for American visas 18 years prior, Jessie’s family had finally been approved, and she could either live on her own in Canada or join them in Florida.

Mientras que en Miami, Jessie reclutó a un amigo para grabar un vídeo musical para una de las canciones que grabó antes de salir de Toronto. Pero ya que tenía prisa en que se publicara, Jessie se encargó de editar el vídeo con sus propias manos, algo que nunca había practicado antes. Envió la versión final a todos en su red de Facebook, y pronto alcanzó miles de visitas. Una de las personas que envió a Jessie remitió a Remix Project de Toronto, una academia de artes que ayuda a los jóvenes de hogares de bajos ingresos a estudiar música, fotografía y negocios. Jessie se inscribió al programa de música por capricho, y unos meses más tarde, fue aceptada en el próximo semestre del programa.

While in Miami, Jessie recruited a friend to shoot a music video for one of the songs she recorded before leaving Toronto. But since she was in a hurry to have it be released, Jessie took the task of editing the video into her own hands, something she had never had practice doing before.She sent the final version to everyone in her Facebook network, and soon it reached a few thousand views. One of the people she sent it to referred Jessie to Toronto’s Remix Project, an arts academy that helps youth from low-income households study the craft of music, photography, and business. Jessie applied to the music program on a whim, and a few months later, she was accepted into the program’s upcoming semester.

Ahora, Jessie está tratando de sacar provecho de buzz al usarlo como la plataforma de lanzamiento para la carrera musical que siempre ha querido. Su próximo álbum, The Archives, será una colección de música que se inspira en toda su vida, desde la ruptura que moldeó su manera de lidiar con el dolor, hasta su tiempo con los déspotas de South Beach, hasta su eventual regreso a casa.

Now, Jessie is looking to capitalize off this newfound buzz by using it as the launching pad for the musical career she’s always wanted. Her upcoming album,The Archives, will be a collection of music that draws inspiration from her entire life, from the breakup that shaped her way of dealing with pain, to her time with the despots of South Beach, to her eventual return home.
